Management Group
The priorities for EUCARE are directed by a Management Group, which reports to the joint executive committee of the International League Against Epilepsy (ILAE) and the International Bureau for Epilepsy (IBE).

The current members of the Management Group are:

  • Martin Brodie
  • Janet Mifsud
  • Michel Baulac
  • Mike Glynn
  • Reetta Kalvianen
  • Thanos Covanis
  • Hanneke de Boer (non-voting)
  • John Kenneth Saké (non-voting)

The Management Group consists of representatives from the ILAE, IBE and ILAE/IBE/WHO Global Campaign against Epilepsy. UCB Pharma, a sponsor to the initiative, has a non-voting representative on the Management Group. The Management Group corresponds by email and teleconference and also meets on a quarterly basis. The group deals with day-to-day supervision of EUCARE activities, with administrative support provided by Ann Little, IBE Executive Director.

Scientific Advisory Board
The Scientific Advisory Board supports, and is actively involved in, the different scientific aspects of the EUCARE programme. Members take responsibility for overseeing particular tasks and commenting on the proposals of the Management Group.

The advisory board is composed of international experts from different countries across Europe. Each member provides input according to their areas of expertise and specialist interests thereby ensuring the integrity and quality of the work undertaken.

As the EUCARE agenda evolves in response to the changing needs and progress of the programme, so too will the Scientific Advisory Board.

External Advisors
EUCARE has access to a number of external advisors who offer additional input. Advisors provide expertise and guidance with specific issues or projects. They are invited to comment on matters that fall within their specialist field of interest.

Their input ensures that EUCARE has access to the latest thinking and progress in the areas of medical research, technology and politics.
