The European Concerted Action and Research in Epilepsy (EUCARE) project was inaugurated in May 1998 in response to the publication of a paper by the Commission on European Affairs (CEA) of the International League against Epilepsy (ILAE), which set out appropriate standards for epilepsy care across Europe.
