
FONDE Study Application
Clinicians caring for patients newly diagnosed with epilepsy are invited to become FONDE investigators, regardless of the settings of the epilepsy services provided. Participation will be on a voluntary basis and no direct financial benefit will accrue to the investigators or study subjects.
What does a FONDE investigator need to do?
- Enrol patients with newly diagnosed/newly treated epilepsy aged 2 years or above and follow them up prospectively (patients who do not start on treatment can also be included)
- Obtain ethical approval for the study according to local requirements and informed consent as appropriate from enrolled patients or their legal guardians
- Collect and submit data electronically to the FONDE data management centre in Milan on a regular basis.
