
FONDE, Following Outcomes in Newly Diagnosed Epilepsy, is a EUCARE observational study which aims at improving the current levels of understanding about the outcome and lifetime effects of epilepsy.
The objective of this study is to assess the clinical and social outcomes for people with newly diagnosed epilepsy across Europe by:
• monitoring the progress of people with newly diagnosed epilepsy in relation to a variety of prognostic factors
• acquiring evidence that epilepsy is a progressive condition in some individuals
• documenting the effects of diagnosis and treatment on aspects of everyday life.
The aim is to assess outcomes under conditions of care as close as possible to routine clinical management.
